Football Aid

Play where your heroes play in 2006!

Last year’s game was at Molineux on Friday April 29th.

Steve Bull / Robbie Dennison captained the home strip and

Don Goodman/Steve Froggatt captained the away strip.

Now, Football Aid, in support of diabetes and local Wolves charities has announced it will again stage Football Aid at Molineux in 2006. You can bid to play at Molineux in this match either on the home or away strip teams. Some positions are available for half a match, others for the full 90 minutes. The positions available are shown on the plan here, which will be updated periodically. For the defininitve status though please visit the Wolves page at Football Aid which is here. (page down until you find Wolverhampton Wanderers entry and click on it)

Here is what Football Aid say about this great opportunity for you to play at Moli - or to buy it as a gift

Now entering its sixth season, Football Aid has delivered over 250 games on a UK Club, European and National stage, enabling 7000 fans to follow in their footballing heroes’ footsteps and pull on the revered jersey, run through the tunnel and play an adrenaline fuelled 90 minutes at the stadiums graced by their idols. With former Club legends captaining and managing the events, it’s a day that lives long in the memory and an opportunity not to be missed!

Whilst experiencing the chance of a lifetime, fans are also contributing significantly to a wide range of deserving charities, locally, nationally and around the globe, with the funds raised through participation. With Football Aid’s multi-beneficiary grant award scheme, funds raised go to Diabetes research, education and management and are also shared with charities nominated for funding by the Clubs. Football Aid were delighted to award a grant of £1,200 to the Wolverhampton Rhinos Wheelchair Basketball Club as a result of the Football Aid event at Molineux last year. The grant is helping to develop the junior section of the team, covering hall hire, wheelchair purchase, travel costs and balls.

Sir Bobby Robson, Football Aid’s Patron comments, “Football Aid provides a fantastic opportunity for Clubs to give something back to their fans, a thanks for their continued support, and simply by playing a game on the pitch of the Club they love, fans are making a huge difference to the lives of so many others. It’s a win-win situation and I believe everyone in Football can be proud of what we have achieved together so far.”
